Description

Ella says, “When taking part in the October Florafest Instagram challenge a couple of years ago, I decided to arrange my paintings into a grid layout. I’ve now done a number of grid paintings and enjoy the quirky effect the grid gives, like a cabinet of curiosities. It’s a way of creating some sense of order with very different shapes.  It was a joy to focus so intently on these beautiful flowers, many of which I have gone on to explore on a larger scale. Exploring the natural world both in life and in art, invites us to slow down, look closely and breathe. The more you look the more you see. Most of these are Australian native plants which I always want to celebrate!”

The original artwork was created using a fine ink pen, Inktense pencils and gouache paint.

Printing and Packaging

Prints are produced in Sydney by Cie-Elle Digital Imaging with a 12 colour pigment ink set. All prints are made to order, carefully embossed with a certified Ella Holland stamp and come with a Certificate of Authenticity detailing edition number and print size.  They are carefully checked before being professionally packaged in sturdy tubes (or flat packaging for A4 sizes).

Acknowledgement of Country

I would like to acknowledge the Cammeraygal people, the traditional owners of the land and waterways where I live, work and play. I pay my respects to Elders, past, present and emerging and extend that respect to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples visiting this website.  I would like to thank the Cammeraygal people for their care of this country.

On Cammeraygal country, I am inspired by flannel flowers growing on steep, rocky slopes, by gum blossoms blooming on suburban streets, and by golden wattle, both wild and cultivated.
