Ella says, “Advent Calendars are always a lovely Christmas tradition - counting down the days until Christmas arrives. Earlier this year (not at Christmas…) I was listening to Beth Kempton’s wonderful podcast Calm Christmas where one of her suggestions was to make your own Advent Calendar. I immediately thought of my grid paintings of Australian flowers. I created a new one which included a range of Australian flowers, numbers, and my take on a Christmas colour palette. The grid features Flannel Flowers, Gum Blossoms, Waratahs, Kangaroo Paws, Paper Daisies, Christmas Bush (of course), Blueberry Ash and Bottlebrush. I’m looking forward to creating my own Advent Calendar this year and hope you will too! The digital download comes as a PDF which can be printed and made into tags for the Advent gifts. You could create gifts on a theme such as sweet treats, postcards, flavoured tea bags, chocolates, stationery items or a combination of all of the above. The labelled gifts could be displayed on a colourful tray, hung on a Christmas tree or strung up as a banner. I have included some ideas in the photos for this product. I hope this project will bring you and your loved ones joy this year!”
